I’m still working hard on the basic functionality, but if you have any ideas or requests or new features or statistics to add to the site, feel free to let me know here. No guarantee that I’ll implement (or like) it but I promise to listen ;)
Some way to "subscribe" to a new profile so I know when they're open for voting.
For instance, I log on and see that someone I know has just created a new profile. However, their ID and promotion history is still pending, so I can't add my vote to verify their rank. Currently I have to go back and manually check their profile on a regular basis to see if they've done this yet. If they don't do it within a few days, I'll probably end up forgetting about them entirely.
So it would be cool if I could tick some kind of a box that says "Let me know when this account is open for voting". They add all the necessary stuff, I get the notification. Once I've voted, the subscription is automatically cancelled.
Ruadhan >> Yeah I’m working on “system notifications” so you’ll get updates on your friends when they verify, are promoted etc (can see friendship as sort of a subscribe function)
I dunno if the concept of "lineage" goes against the whole idea of the site, but I think having an option to add it to a profile would be valuable from a practitioner database point of view. A lot of people are promoted by coaches who are not well known, but perhaps the coach's coach is, to somebody, and at least I find these connections interesting. Ideally ofc everybody would be here and you could just click the coach's name and examine the lineage that way, but they aren't and won't be.
Another thing: the OCD me would love to be able to manually sort the Competition record so that the matches are in chronological order within a certain comp. (I realized halfway typing them in that they get sorted within a date in the order of entries, so the first half is in reverse chronological order, just terrible!!)
And if the comp record form would've remember your previous entries, it would've made typing them in a lot faster. The validation comment field seems to remember your previous entries, but the comp thing (where it would be really useful) doesn't.

If people want to list their lineage on their profile, for now they can do it in their description field.
The really interesting part will be when the user base grows a bit more and people start to put their coaches and students on their profiles. With that, we can do some serious visualization of lineage. Live and global!
Please set up another way to invite people to join as most of the folks I know are on social media and some rather not receive invites via their work email. Thank you!
Website should keep the profile in incomplete state until all the belt promotion info is entered. ie. You cannot enter a higher belt unless you have entered the lower belt info.
This is more relevant to US people, but if you could add a state response box in between city and country, that would be great for searching out others in our part of the country. I realize you can currently type that in the city section, but very few people are.
Thanks for many good suggestions, I'm taking note of everything. Many of the things are already on my to do list. Right now I'm just focusing on optimizing the site for the many new users so it can run smoothly :) But will keep improving and adding features in the future
Hey, BJJ Globetrotters, as a goofy experiment, a couple weeks ago,
I set up a Discord server for insomniacs in our BJJ / MMA local area to shit talk with each other.
I spend several hundred dollars upgrading it, which they call "leveling it up."
If you like, I can rename the Channel name to BJJ Globetrotters, or some other Open Affiliation name, and open it up to the folks here to use for the live chats.
Be warned, I am not very big on censorship, I encourage joking, and basically pub style conversations...
William, I might very well experiment with a live chatroom feature here at some point.
No need to name it BJJ Globetrotters - this site is for the world wide BJJ community. Just happened that a few of the first beta testers knew each other through BJJ Globetrotters, but it is not a site made for that group :)
Webmaster, I might be able to make you a moderator on it.
I am still learning the Discord platform myself.
If you are interested, think of good name for the channel.
I only ask that if we do so, and you are a moderator, that we avoid censorship, but also avoid legal action, you know, that delicate free speech balance these days, with these kinds of forums.
A bulk or batch upload feature for competition matches and competition medals would be nice, at least on the front end. Using a simple Excel template or something.
Paul yeah I’ve been thinking that too, but I’m also working on a “people you may know” page with a bit more advanced list of those who match your area, academy, affiliation etc. So many good ideas, so little time :D
The ability to see names in list view with full names. Right now I can just see first names only of who's online, who's new, etc...
Being able to see a list view of who's online, who's new, who's, verified, who's unverified, and so on with full names and ranks would make it easier. It seems I would have to click on peoples full profiles each time to get an idea of who I'm looking at instead of getting a quick glimpse.
- A most popular Sub's (Both for Win & Loss) - maybe tricky as method of victory field is free text and trying to do a drop box of sub's would be a nightmare to cover everything.
- opponent most (Faced in battle(Name) - wins over (name) - losses to(name))
