Anyone here ranked in Judo?

"What would the utility be? Community? AFAIK judo has national governing bodies in all countries. Rank is easy to prove. Btw, not trying to sound like an ass, genuine question." I assume community and a way to publicly share it. Even folks prompted outside the governing bodies have the option to do rank validation with promotion boards as long as they can find someone of sufficient rank to recommend/evaluate them. |
"What would the utility be? Community? AFAIK judo has national governing bodies in all countries. Rank is easy to prove. Btw, not trying to sound like an ass, genuine question." You could say the same about this site, but here we are with 16,000+ registered users in a year, so apparently there's some interested for niche social media sites like this. |
"Right you are! I've looked into it but most clubs are geared towards kids. " I've noticed that too. Here in Germany it's the same. I'm lucky that I (finally) found a club with a good adult program, but even the members here say it is more the exception in Judo than the rule. One member who's been doing Judo for 20 years even said she's not found a comparable adult program in any other club she's visited. My last group was also mostly focused on kids. Even the adult classes were taught like the kids classes. One day the teacher was too lazy to plan a class and just had us play football (soccer for the Americans) for an hour. |
"Looking for beta testers of a Judo version of Beltchecker. If you're interested, send me a message here on the site and I'll give you access :)" I’d be interested. I’ve been doing my best to log and interact with the belt checker features so I have a pretty good feel for the platform and I’d bug my dojo buddies to join. (Edited 4 year(s) ago) |
While it's not fully public yet, I feel confident enough to post it here: http://www.judochecker.com Been working hard on this over the last few weeks and think we've managed most of the bugs so far. Give it a try!! :) ![]() |
In case my message drowned, since you're still replying: Feel free to go try http://www.judochecker.com, it's up and running :) :) |
