Hi Everyone, My name is Dr. Jarrell Garcia. I’m a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and researcher at the University of Rhode Island, and I’m conducting a research study examining the psychological impact of injury among BJJ practitioners. I’m inviting adult BJJ practitioners who are currently dealing with an injury that is affecting their ability to train or compete to participate in a one-time anonymous online survey. The survey takes about 10–15 minutes to complete. Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. After clicking the link, you’ll be able to review the full study information and consent details before deciding whether to continue, and eligibility questions are included at the start of the survey. If you’re interested in learning more or participating, you can access the study here: https://uri.co1.qualtrics[...]nOdgr47p8q Thank you for helping contribute to research focused on the BJJ community. |

I know it is a different subject but might provide some helpful information with your study. The We Defy Foundation has partnered with UT Southwestern Medical Center doing an IRB approved study to scientifically analyze the therapeutic benefits of BJJ on veterans' mental health. Yes, this is basically reverse of the study you are doing but might provide some valuable information. There is also a great paper done by Dr, Gino Collura on the same subject. Good luck with your research! |
Hey Everyone, While I can't see personal details, as the survey is anonymous, I just want to thank anyone who took the time to participate in the study. While I am only a week into the recruitment cycle (survey recruitment 4-6 weeks minimum), I still wanted to show appreciation. With that said, if you haven't checked it out, you can find all the research information in the link in my first post. |
