Introduced to BJJ by Jurgen Putter and Francois Groenewald of Rio Grappling after 10 years of Muaythai and Kickboxing at Warrior Sports Centurion under Brett Clarke. Stopped regular stand up classes after the BJJ bug bit. Officially started BJJ on 22 June 2015 at Monkey Jits Centurion under Prof. Jacques Wagner and was awarded their blue belt on 23 November 2016. Joined Gracie Barra Kyalami under Prof. Garreth McLellan and Prof. Shana Power around March 2018 and was officially certified as a blue belt with them on 28 October 2018. In January 2019 joined FFM Quan Wessels Cobrinha Sunninghill under Prof. Richard Quan and Prof. Norman Wessels and graded and officially certified as a blue belt with them on 13 December 2019. Moved to Constrictor Jiujitsu Pretoria under Prof. Calvin Moodley mid 2023 and was awarded purple on 14 Dec 2023. Currently instruct a Saturday morning 7am fundamentals class for adults and compete 3 to 4 times a year (Under 70kg. Masters 5 age group).
