Tidal Wave Jiu Jitsu is a We Defy Foundation location My name is Anthony nelson, I am a Black Belt under Second Degree BJJ Black Belt and Professor Alberto Da Silva. I am the Maryland coordinator for We Defy Foundation.We provide combat veterans coping with military connected disabilities a long term means to overcome their challenges through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fitness training. I started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1999 under a Ralph Gracie Purple belt in Fairbanks Alaska. Throughout the years I trained with Tai Kai Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA, in Syracuse, New York, Zeus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in Monterey, California, Guerrilla Jiu Jitsu, in Brainerd, Minnesota, John Frankl BJJ , in Seoul Korea, and prodigy mixed martial arts, in Leesville Louisiana. I’ve been the head instructor and MMA corner at RSMAA in Junction city Kansas, And ran my own school in Kuwait city Kuwait, Mons Belgium under Cat5 Jiu-Jitsu and now DC area under Tidal Wave Jiu-Jitsu. I am combatives level two certified, and have various belts in judo, TKD, and Ryu Kempo. I have a focus on teaching active duty military, veterans, and their families. With an emphasis on teaching persons with disabilities.
