Vaikka ei ole koolla pilattu, niin aina on löylyä piisannut. I started BJJ 2021 at 57 years old. Before that, already -79 Hokutoryu jiujitsu in Helsinki all the way to the green belt. I became interested in powerlifting and bodybuilding and my path led to California, the Mecca of bodybuilding, where I trained for 2 years, the best time for a young man at the time. I moved to Sweden in 1998 in Haparanda where I started karate and in 2003 I was in the Norbotten county competitions in the 3rd division of heavy weight, there were 6 competitors. I returned to Helsinki after work in 2005 and took a break from contact sports for almost 10 years due to knee injuries, continuing to do powerlifting. In 2021, I got the idea to go train BJJ, which I started with my friend Harri, and the road we are on now and we will definitely pull this thing to the end, so to speak, let's go with boots on. The best thing along the way, new great friends from an internationally known sport, you can always feel welcome no matter what the country is, thanks to all the BJJ trainers.
