"Still no evidence, a month after being asked for it. Also, Daniel Sainty shouldn't had promoted anyone to BB in 2013 by the looks of the lineage. Yuki got his BB in 1998 or 1999 (https://www.bjjheroes.com/bjj-fighters/yuki-nakai) so Hiroshi must have been 2004 or 2005 at earliest, with Daniel then at BB no earlier than 2010 or 2011. So I would like to see who promoted who and when (links to sources?)."

Alexander King-Zhang, with regards to your comment, which was unfortunately lost when I modified my vote text: I'm doing my own beltchecking on Beltchecker and leave to Port Macquarie Open Jiu Jitsu Championship and David's students to do their own.

You are correct, Daniel Sainty could not sign me off for my BB, Yuki Nakai did. I have competed in and Won IBJJF Comps, it is enough for them, it should be for you. Get over yourself

If Yuki promoted you then you should list him as your promoting instructor (and provide evidence). IBJJF will approve you even if a yellow belt promoted you to BB, as long as you get a 2:nd degree or higher BB to "sign off". I would still down vote that person as the 2:nd degree to promote to BB standard is more than just IBJJF. There has been instances of "sign-and-run" where the instructor "signing off" hasn't done his due diligence (or even met the person being promoted) beforehand and has distanced himself from the promotion after new information has surfaced. While IBJJF still wouldn't de-recognize the person. So no, IBJJF recognition in itself isn't evidence and you have yourself confirmed that the person you listed as promoting you wasn't a 2:nd degree or higher BB. That's a down vote from me.

It's paperwork, my coach gave me the BB and Yuki signed it off. I have a solid competition record. Sorry if that means nothing to you...actually no, I don't care. Have a nice day

Be sure to look Dave up next time you're in Australia so you can two can have a roll and do your due diligence, I'm sure you'd be a real tough round for him
9 month(s) ago
Sorry, I'm too scared of anyone able to survive in a country with everything in nature trying to kill you. Wouldn't be a fair fight, would it? Besides, it doesn't change the fact that Dave has already confirmed that the listed promoting instructor wasn't yet a 2:nd degree BB (besides no substantial evidence being present on his profile). If Yuki is listed as promoting instructor and evidence is added, that's another matter.

You're the kind of person who thinks thinks the world begins and ends with paperwork. Yuki signed me off. My Belts are certified by IBJJF and AFBJJ, I've won national and international comps under their banners at BB. Admit defeat ya Dunce
9 month(s) ago
And what kind of person are you, submitting your belt for checking on a homepage literally named Beltchecker and turning to insults when it's pointed out you've submitted no actual evidence? You actually paid hundreds of dollars to IBJJF for them to do paperwork according to their criteria. Did you call them dunces too or do you reserve that for those you haven't paid hundreds of dollars for doing the paperwork with the evidence you have submitted? Btw, IBJJF settle for a Port Macquarie Open podium pic as evidence or did you actually put some effort into getting your degree checked by them? You could always try to put the same effort into Beltchecker. Or just conclude it isn't for you. Remove a previous belt and you'll make your profile unvoteable while still showing your latest degree.
9 month(s) ago
Ok, fair point. Having seen all the evidence I have provided, do you think I am a Black Belt?
9 month(s) ago
I still only see a Port Macquarie Open podium pic as submitted evidence. I see it as more likely than not that you are the degree you claim to be, which is really the case with any not yet verified profile on Beltchecker. But I don't vote on likelihood but on evidence submitted on your profile. Getting all up votes on Beltchecker really isn't easier than getting verified with IBJJF (although less expensive), as you need evidence accepted based on a lot of different persons' way of reasoning. My way is to try to be as transparent and consistent as possible with objective criteria and with an evidence threshold which will likely give you universal acceptance of your degree on Beltchecker. See e.g. https://www.beltchecker.com/forum.php?p=read&type=1&id=68628&page=2 (second post from top). With Yuki as promoting instructor and evidence of that, you'll no problem get my verification.

Check my YT channel and there's videos of me competing in Brazil. Have to admit I'm not comfortable putting my IBJJF forms in public, but at some point I'll put up some other evidence

I stick to the formal criteria and evidence. Competing in a weight class at a competition is unfortunately not evidence and on Beltchecker, there's even a well known member who was allowed to compete in the mundials in the black belt division in the 90:s, over many years admitted to not have a BJJ belt at all at that time, competed as a purple belt in 2007 but lately changed his mind and claims to have been promoted to BB in the 90:s. But, as I said, it's easy to make the profile unvoteable if you wish.
9 month(s) ago
David, is it a fact everyone thinks differently? I don't see you verified after more than a month, so even if it's not expressed through a down vote, I would believe there are at least a couple of others who expects evidence they are able to check at a site called Beltchecker.

You raise a fair point that I could have put more effort into my profile. The truth is it never occurred to me that it would be questioned. There's footage of me winning international comps online and the IBJJF and AFBJJ gave me an uncheck. I guess there are frauds out there, I however am not one of them. Maybe I haven't submitted all the evidence I could have. At some point I'll get round to it. I'm competing in a few weeks, hopefully they're satisfied with the authenticity of my belt...I've won their comp before 😁
