I started training wrestling and BJJ in high school around 2005, and since then I've trained on more than 60 mat spaces around the world, teaching often along the way, sometimes at BJJ Globetrotters camps. I have competed in Judo, BJJ, Wrestling and Sambo. I also hold the rank of nidan in Judo (achieved in January 2019), registered with USA Judo. Before black belt promotion, I was the 11th most trusted brown belt on beltchecker.

Ben Williams dragged me along sometime in early 2006, when I was in high school; I can't remember how I finally calculated this exact date, hard before the era of smartphones. I know he got his blue belt on my first day. I trained for 6 months, then 6 months later for 1 month, and then didn't really train for another 6 or 7 years. This pic of me is sometime between 2009 and 2011, wearing my original gi for halloween. I was technically a white belt at the time of photo, only picture of me as a white belt in a gi in existence I think.
