I bought a Kataaro when i was first promoted but it was very expensive. I mostly just use a 'TatamiFightwear' belt now

I have only tried Atama as a blue belt and Tatami regular belt as a white and now a Tatami deluxe belt as a fresh purple belt. My favorite so far is the Tatami deluxe belt.

Kataaro and Kanji are the ones I am using now. Both were gifted so I wear them exclusively.

I have a Kanji belt I use for competition. And I use BCK belts (sponsor) day to day in class.

Eosin Panther has been my go to for all my belts in bjj, Kempo, and KFSS. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

The Kataaro is a very nice belt I will definitely look into the Kanji brand. Cool

The Kanji belt was given to me by Rodrigo Munduruca. He had my name done in Kanji as well. I love that belt. My Kaataro was custom made with the Gracie Humaita Logo and my name on it. It was a gift from Jason Figliano. It is super soft and long lasting. Can't go wrong with either one.

considering the goal is to continue moving through the colors and change belts, i have always bought the cheapest. Currently i'm a fan of the Sanabul special on amazon for less than $9. It holds my gi closed....What else do i need it for? I figure if i ever make it to black belt, i'll gift myself something fancy like a kataaro since that would be my "forever" belt.

My mindset on belts is that I will use whatever brand my professor gives me when I get promoted, until I reach black belt. My goal is to wear the same belt for every class so that when I finally get promoted, I can see the total wear/tear that I've put on it to get to the next promotion. It's an odd source of pride for me. I got to purple belt pretty fast, so my white/blue belts weren't very impressive in terms of wear/tear, but I stayed at purple for over 3 years and was pretty attached to it by the time I got promoted. I hope to put a ton more mileage on my brown belt.

I'm not sure what brand my purple belt was. It was a private label belt under Equipe Jucao. I assume it was a Fuji though, but not sure.

Before the black belt, I had what my professor gave me. Even the black Venum who my Professor gave me my is excellent but my wife gave me the Isami as a definitive belt.

The Green Gi hemp belt, by a long long way. I don't wear any other brands, I just keep re-dying the belt when I go up a level. Main thing I like about them so much is they don't have a core, so nice and floppy. I really don't like how stiff other belts can be, due to their core.

Sadly The Green Gi went bust a while ago, but as I can just keep dyeing them, I can keep wearing them (I have two, a purple and a brown. Well, two brown now, as I dyed the purple one ;) ).

I’m quite finicky about my belts. (Insert Alex Jones on JRE meme here.)

I have several belts because I used tot teach the kids classes at two different places, and because I’m an [Alex Jones], I‘m super absent-minded and tend to forget my belt a lot. I keep one in the car, one in my locker, and one in my gym bag.

I don’t like the Fuji belt, as it tends to run small, and it’s too thin for my preference. I like the durability and the thickness of Gameness. I use it for belt pull-ups. It never gave me any problems, and it gives me a good grip. My current one is a Senso BJJ belt, which I also like the thickness of.

All of you are wrong.

You must wear a belt of leather made from the flesh of your defeated opponents,

tanned with your own piss, to mark your territory.

Otherwise, your silly belt of any color is just a bit of cloth and dye.

And your cups should be their skulls.

Properly kilned and decorated in homage to the gods.

Also, your fanny pack should be bull scrotum.

And your boots, alligator, crocodile, or cayman, taken by your own hand.

Or else you are a sissy.

I'm currently using Maeda's belt made from Gi material. It feels thick and sturdy. The knot, when you tie it, ends up being a bit bigger than cotton belts. It also tends to come untied less during rolls.

I have a thicker weave belt from Killer Bee as the everyday training belt.

Koral as competition belt (lighter and protected from wear). I like the duller shade of purple on the Koral best.

My coach gave my blue belt to somebody else (don’t remember the brand). :D

I have also lost a belt when it fell out of a gi pouch on my back as I was cycling in a big foreign city. Felt slightly emotional for about 1 km.

My pick for a general belt would be Scramble, holds color really well, soft and durable.

For a fancy, more expensive belt, kataaro is a good choice. I got the slim version and its very compact, durable and looks soooooo good.

I’ll have to share a pic of mine when it gets a little more worn out. Our head affiliate gym has custom ones made with the next belt color underneath your current so as your belt wears out, the next belt color starts to crack through.

I have only ever worn the belt that is given to me however... Before being promoted to puple my dad was struggling for a secret santa gift for me and the shop owner suggested a Tatami deluxe belt... It is quite nice, much thicker and quite a bit stiffer than what I'm used to but I like it. I won't be able to use it for comps I don't think, a bit short (unless I keep up the running I've started during thir lockdown).
I have ordered my coach a custom black belt from Kataaro though, after a bit of research it seems like the better one. I'd be happy to let you know my thoughts when it arrives and his thoughts once he's promoted. I can't fault their customer service so far, it's been great dealing with them even though the world is shut down and I'm on the other side of the planet.

Kaataro is the best belt brand I’ve ever seen. They hand stitch the belts and while expensive, it is amazing quality.

No. I don’t believe that is correct. Belt brand is directly correlated to power. I have an isami red core belt that I only wear when I am going to crush people. I can’t wear that one everyday. No one would want to consistently train with me.

I think I used a judo whitebelt, Koral bluebelt (loved that one, thick but soft core), Sirius purplebelt (that was a cool brand, pity that it disappeared), Aesthetic brownbelt (loved that one as well) and now have a custom (my gym) BJJ GT blackbelt which is a bit flimsy for my taste - lightweight and good for competition but I prefer a sturdier belt myself.

Want to order one. Torn between Kataaro, Isami and Eosin Panther.

Try this one...
I had one gifted to me from Rodrigo Munduruca. It's pretty damn awesome too.

I use my Kataaro belt mostly but this is my second go to belt.
